A Quick Blessing

Noah was 6 months old.
I was still nursing him, but I just felt "off." I asked Tom if he thought I could be pregnant. He told me there was no way I could be pregnant already.
I wasn't convinced, so I went out and bought a test. I bought a generic two pack. With the first test, there was not a positive sign. Well, not at first. Ten minutes after, it showed a faint positive sign. I wasn't sure what that meant. I looked at the directions and it said that there could be a false positive result after ten minutes. Ok. So how do you know?
I went downstairs. Tom was outside mowing our front yard. I stood at our door and asked him to come talk to me for a moment. I held up the test stick. No chance? So what does this mean? I explained that I was not sure if I was or not still. We decided to do the second test in the box. Same thing. It turned positive after ten minutes.
On the box it said the test had a money back guarantee.
The next day Tom and I were taking our 3 boys to the zoo.
We stopped at the store where I had bought the tests. I went inside with baby Noah on my hip. I went up to Customer Service and told them what happened and that the results were confusing. I smiled and lifted Noah up a little and said I really need to know. I would like my money back so I can purchase a brand that I know and trust.
The woman understood and refunded my money.
I bought another test - the one I usually use - and left.
I told Tom I couldn't wait. I needed to know. Tom pulled into the gas station we normally stop at. I ran inside and used the restroom. After a few minutes I went back to the car, nodded at Tom, and we continued on our way to the zoo. I think we were in shock. Only 6 months after giving birth and we were already expecting another baby.
I made an appointment with my doctor. He did an ultrasound and we figured out that we had been blessed with our newest baby on Tom's birthday.
Awe...that made sense.
And I remember Tom looking at me with a smile and he said, "I wonder if God has given us a daughter for my birthday."
We decided to wait the whole 9 months before finding out.
